Meet the Team: Cat Sargentich

“I love flowers! If I was doing any other job, I think I’d be bored out of my mind. Flowers are so much fun and my passion.”

Today we get to meet Cat, one of Tres Belle’s fabulous floral designers!

How would you describe yourself?

I’m outgoing, enjoy interacting with people, and friendly.

What first got you into floral design?

My mother noticed that I enjoyed flowers and found a class for me.

What is your favorite thing about floral design?

All the options and how many different things you can do. You can make anything you can dream of!

What was the best wedding you’ve worked at so far?

One I did about 2 years ago. I made a bouquet of peonies and it smelled so good and was super pretty!

What is the most memorable moment you’ve had while working in the wedding industry?

The first time I went to the local floral wholesaler. I got to go in the back and see all the flowers. It was amazing!

What is the best thing a client can do for you?

Either have tons of pictures and know exactly what you want, or just say “free creative control.” Either is super helpful.

Do you have a tip for an aspiring floral designer?

Go for it! It’s never-ending fun. I’ve chosen it as a career path, and have never had a dull day. It can be stressful but fun overall.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

When I was studying in London, Judith Blacklock said: “Always examine your greeneries, so you can get the best out of it.” So now, whenever I look at greenery, I always hear a British voice in my head reminding me to examine them thoroughly.

What are your other hobbies in addition to floral design?

I enjoy drawing, writing, taking walks, and spending time with my family.
