The first step in the wedding process is arguably the most important, it sets the tone, it gets the ball rolling…. It’s picking your venue! When you pick your venue, you pick your date as well. When you sign the contract, you are now on the countdown.

You must be careful because you can’t just pick any venue! This venue should be everything you’ve ever dreamed whether it’s an open field with grass as far as the eye can see, or a beautiful ballroom space with gorgeous drapes.
The wedding process is stressful, that’s a fact that cannot be stressed enough. However, I think finding the perfect venue lifts quite a bit of the stress. Today I’m going to share with you the top 3 things to look for when choosing your perfect venue!

#1: Visit
Visit all potential venues! That is so very important you do not want to choose a venue based off pictures or by word of mouth. When you do an onsite visit, you get to look at every nook and cranny, so you can see what you like and don’t like. The pictures on the internet won’t show you that in one venue the dance floor is about 2 feet vs. the venue where the tables come in 3 different styles. That’s the great thing about on-site visits, you get see all the possibilities a venue can offer.
#2: Speak Up
If there is something you don’t like about a venue speak up! You never know what upgrades or changes a venue company could offer you. If there is something you want to change or don’t like, speak up. You don’t have to settle because you love the location but don’t like some of the building décor. A lot of companies are willing to put certain décor away or add certain items (curtains, lights etc.) to please you. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself.
#3 Don’t Stress
Don’t stress if the venue doesn’t have the date you want. There will be some venues that you will find and love, but they won’t have the date you had in mind. As stressful as that sounds, I’m a strong believer in “what will be, will be”. So go into the venue search with an open mind, and the right date will come to you!

Have fun, don’t stress (easier said then done) and enjoy every moment.
